MERRY CHRISTMAS! I know I’m a little late in wishing that to you all, but life has been moving at light speed lately and I haven’t had a spare moment to post.
In the two weeks prior to Christmas, not only was I prepping for having family over, but I was also working late nights and weekends to finish a very special project for Able To Play Music & AccordionLife.com.
Many hours went into the design and content of the magazine – and I could not have done it alone. I love working with the staff at AccordionLife.com – they’re super! We have guest writers like Frederic Deschamps with his technique that has created world champions, 2x Grammy Award-winning Joel Guzman, and the product manager of Hohner, Gilbert Reyes. The magazine contains tips for learning and practicing, free sheet music, news . . . and because accordionists and musicians have to eat, a recipe from world traveler and musician Beverly Smick.
The magazine, as well as AccordionLife.com, are headed up by Patricia Bartell, an accordionist known for her fine musicianship and musical expression, as well as her teaching. She commonly travels to adjudicate world competitions and was the organizer for the 2012 Trophee Mondial International Accordion Competition that was held in Spokane, WA, USA.
It’s been a great privilege to work on the magazine, and I look forward to the future issues, which will be released every quarter.
I still hope to get back to Chipmunk’s Corner and post more regularly. In the meantime, thanks for sticking with me and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
